Cyrdis is a small engineering studio for companies that need more than a vendor: someone who understands the system well enough to argue with the roadmap.

Why we exist

Most software work fails for reasons that have nothing to do with code: unclear priorities, a team stretched too thin, or a vendor incentivized to keep the ticket open. We started Cyrdis to work the way we always wished a partner would: opinionated, direct, and gone once the system stands on its own.

Where we came from

We spent a decade building and inheriting systems inside product companies, consultancies, and one memorable rescue mission on a codebase nobody would claim. The pattern was always the same: the technology was rarely the hard part. The hard part was someone willing to say what the system actually needed, out loud, early.

So that became the company. Two founders, deliberately few projects at a time, and a standing rule that we never ship anything we couldn’t explain to your engineers line by line. It turns out honesty scales better than headcount.

How we operate

We say no to work we’re not right for.

A bad-fit project costs both sides more than the fee is worth. We’d rather point you to someone better suited.

Every architecture decision gets written down.

Not for the paperwork. So the reasoning survives past whoever made the call.

The person who built it can explain it.

No black boxes handed off at the end of an engagement. You get the system and the reasoning behind it.

We measure our own work the way we’d measure yours.

Uptime, cost, and outcomes, tracked with the same rigor we’d expect from a vendor.

Want to know if we're the right fit?

The fastest way to find out is to describe the problem. We'll give you a direct answer.
